Recycle Wine Bottle 4th of July

What to do with empty wine or liquor bottles?

Costco makes an awesome margarita wine that tastes just like a margarita so. . .

Supplies needed

Glass bottle
Paint if you can't get your label off
Mod Podge
Paper Napkins (remove the white backing)
Twine, ribbon or rope

Here's the bottle

This bottle's label can't be removed.  I've tried everything.  It must be embossed somehow, so I take some white paint and go over the words.

Choose your napkins and remove the white backing.  (Link to my process video here:

Tear or cut your napkins into pieces and adhere with the Mod Podge.  Be sure to put a couple of coats of Mod Podge on the outside of the napkin as you go.

I save the top of the bottle for last.  I put Mod Podge around the top and wrap the twine using more Mod Podge as you go.

You can place lights inside the bottle or sprays.  I have a couple of these on my porch and they are holding up well in the South Florida heat and humidity.

Happy Fourth of July!

If you can, make it a crafty day.
