Recycle Wine Bottle 4th of July

What to do with empty wine or liquor bottles?

Costco makes an awesome margarita wine that tastes just like a margarita so. . .

Supplies needed

Glass bottle
Paint if you can't get your label off
Mod Podge
Paper Napkins (remove the white backing)
Twine, ribbon or rope

Here's the bottle

This bottle's label can't be removed.  I've tried everything.  It must be embossed somehow, so I take some white paint and go over the words.

Choose your napkins and remove the white backing.  (Link to my process video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9NJA8RS3AI)

Tear or cut your napkins into pieces and adhere with the Mod Podge.  Be sure to put a couple of coats of Mod Podge on the outside of the napkin as you go.

I save the top of the bottle for last.  I put Mod Podge around the top and wrap the twine using more Mod Podge as you go.

You can place lights inside the bottle or sprays.  I have a couple of these on my porch and they are holding up well in the South Florida heat and humidity.

Happy Fourth of July!

"Cars" Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for my father-in-law.

I used Cricut's Cars paper and embellishments.  I found these at JoAnne's on clearance.

The actual card is very easy to create.  Cricut Design Space has pre-made box card through Cricut Acess or you can cut them by hand.  I used the template below from Laura Volpes.

Don't forget to embellish the sides.  I usually cut the squares 2 1/2 x 2 1/2.

The front flaps I used a corner rounder on.  You can leave square if you want.

I take clear acetate from packaging to use to "float" the embellishments in the  middle of the card.

The card will fold flat for mailing.

Cricut Quick Cards and Tag

As part of a swap group that encourages us to use our Cricut machines we had three (3) partners.

All images were cut with the Cricut Explore Air 2.

My first partner likes vintage campers and I remember seeing one in Design Space, so I made her a card.

The image is from the Wild Card 2 cartridge.

My second partner loves Game of Thrones, so I made medevial theme card with a dragon.

The dragon image came from the Stickers cartridge.

The castle image came from the World Tour cartridge.

The Happy Birthday images came from the Cake Basics cartridge.

My third partner loves Cactus (Cacti?) so I made her a cute tag.

The tag came from the Very Merry Tags cartridge.

The Cactus and hat came from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge.

The Hello Clip came from the Bits & Pieces cartridge.

Easter Wreath 2019

Supplies:

1. 14 inch wreath form from Dollar Tree
2. Sign and flowers from Dollar Tree
3. Mesh ribbon from Hobby Lobby.
Used 5.5 x 10 yard rolls. Some colors I used 2 rolls, some 1 1/2 rolls.
4. Pipe cleaners. I used 1 pipe cleaner for each bundle.  HL mesh is thicker than DT's.
5. Glue sticks and hot glue gun.

I used the bundle method by Amber "This Southern Girl Can" on YouTube.

Pipe cleaners are hot glued to back of sign.

Happy Crafting!

Altered Coffee Sleeve Mini Album Swap

This mini album was for my partner in a vintage/shabby/Victorian garden themed swap using coffee sleeves you get from Starbucks or DD.

The primary paper collection used was Graphic 45's Secret Garden and Photo Play's Things to Remember.

The cover page is from the Photo Play, along with a sticker from the collection.  I used some trim from Walmart and a butterfly from my stash.

The next two pages are from the Secret Garden collection.  I used the stamps as small photo mats and cut out a piece of the collection to make a journaling spot.

The next two pages are from the Secret Garden collection.  I made a belly band and a small photo mat one page and another journaling spot on the other.

The journaling spot pages are hot glued together to make pockets.

The next two pages are also from the Secret Garden collection.  I made a small pocket and stuck some tags in it.

The back cover page is a combo of both paper collections.

Used my Crop-O-Dile to punch the hole and a medium size ring to bind the album.  Decided not to use any fibers on the side since the album is a mini.

Had fun making this.  Hope my partner likes it.

Altered Paper Clips for Year Round Christmas Swap Group

I belong to a swap group that swaps Christmas projects year round.

These are altered paper clips.

I used rosettes for the bases and dug through my stash for the bits and bobs used for the embellishments.  I thought they needed a little more so I stamped some Christmas phrases from a stamp set from a UK stamping magazine and Tattered Lace stamps.

I hot glued everything down to make sure the clips stay secured.

Thanks for stopping by.

Easter Wreath Dollar Tree Crafts

This wreath was made with materials from the Dollar Tree.

Supplies needed:

14 inch wreath form

Deco mesh. (DT size is 5 inches wide with 15 yards on each roll.
I used 1 1/2 rolls of white, blue, pink and purple.

I also purchased 4 rolls of various Easter themed-ribbons.  The ribbons are cut at 9 inches and dove-tailed on the ends.  Each roll of ribbon has 3 yards on it.  I have about 1/4 roll of each ribbon left.

Pipe cleaners-  you will need 1/2 of a pipe cleaner for each "tube" bundle.  I have about 33 bundles.  You will also need a full pipe cleaner to attach to the back of the bunny.  I used 3.

Foam eggs-  the package had 12 in it.  I used 9.

Hot glue gun

Scissors and/or rotary cutter

Instructions:

Cut the mesh at 5 inches.  Roll into a tube.  Hold onto tube or use a clothespin to hold the tube.  Three (3) tubes make a bundle.  Use 1/2 pipe cleaner to hold bundle together and then put on wreath form.  I use the 2 middle rings.  If you are placing ribbon on the bundle, make it the same and add the ribbon facing you last.  I put a ribbon on every other bundle.

It will look like a hot mess until you are about half-way through and then it really comes together.

I then hot glue the pipe cleaners to the back of the bunny and attached it to the wreath.

I hot glued the foam eggs to the mesh and made 2 small ribbons for the bunny ears.

Embellishments For Paper Projects

These embellishments were for a Swap-Bot swap.

We had 3 partners and had to create 6 embellishments for each party.

My partners chose coffee, butterflies and vintage Christmas.

I got out my scraps and bits and bobs and put them on my table and came up with embellishments below.

Sometimes I do this just to get my creative mojo going again.  See what you can make from a few supplies.

I also have a process video on my YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToE9Jxj5RbI

Have a great day.  Make it a crafty one.
